Le Comité National Olympique et Sportif Français (CNOSF)
From October 31 to November 13, 2026, the African continent will host an Olympic competition on its soil for the first time. As the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games approach, a new chapter is opening for the Olympic Movement.
The French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF) is taking the opportunity at AKAA to highlight the event, its intercultural dimension, and the deep connection between art and Olympism.
Inspired by the ancient Games, which celebrated aesthetics alongside the qualities of body and mind, Pierre de Coubertin’s vision of Olympism brought together sport, culture and education to promote a way of life conducive to the harmonious development of individuals and humanity.
From the art competitions held until 1948 to opening and closing ceremonies, as well as the design of torches and medals and the Cultural Olympiad, art has always been an integral part of Olympic history.
At AKAA, the CNOSF seeks to revive this connection through a dialogue with African artistic creation. Its space will showcase the work of Kader Klouchi, a former Olympic athlete and French long jump record holder. A Franco-Algerian painter and sculptor, he translates the intensity of sport into his artistic practice.
Straddling figuration and abstraction, his works capture the essence of movement, strength and the pursuit of excellence. Throughout the fair, he will work with paper to create his pieces live in front of the public.
Dance, at the intersection of sport and art, will also take centre stage through an Afro dance offered during the fair.
