Abdelhak Benallou

20 September 2022

Born in 1992 in Algeria, Abdelhak Benallou graduated from the Ecole des Beaux-Arts d’Alger, the Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Dunkerque and is completing his last year at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Paris. In 2022, he was awarded the Prix Sarr and the Prix des portraits des amis des Beaux-Arts. Abdelhak Benallou’s work is built through a realistic approach mixed with a pictorial narrative, leading to a reflection on behaviour, social relations and the weight of determinisms. The evolution between generations challenges him on both a human and technological level. The theme of the overconsumption of digital media and the isolation of the characters is central to his approach.
