Derrick Ofosu Boateng

Derrick Ofosu Boateng symbolises the youth of the continent who are taking over the internet quickly. His works, made on iPhones, are emblematic of mixed media. Strongly influenced by Anglo-Saxon culture, he boldly uses colour in everyday scenes, which are dedicated to “feel good”. These characters celebrate the black body surrounded with bright tones. They go beyond the perception of movement: they are inhabited and embodied, and they overflow with life and communicative energy. It is also the colour and their discourse that animate the young artist. Participating in the Hueisms philosophy, each of Boateng’sworks is accompanied by a reflection or a colourful poem.
