Éder Oliveira

Éder Oliveira was born in 1983 in Timboteua, in the Amazonian state of Pará. He graduated in Arts Education–Fine Arts at the Federal University of Pará. He is a painter by métier, and since 2004 he has developed works that deal with the issue of cultural identity. Oliveira’s main focus is the Amazonian man and his identity, image, and marginalization. Oliveira creates site specific works, interventions, and oil paintings on canvas. Oliveira has received the following awards: “Bolsa Funarte de Estímulo à Produção em Artes Visuais” (2014), Award of Visual Arts from the Integrated System of Museums (2008), and the 2nd Grand Prize of Salon Arte Pará (2007). Oliveira’s work is actually in the following collections: Museum of Contemporary Art of Rio Grande do Sul, Casa das Onze Janelas, Museum of the Federal University of Pará, and Museum of Art of Rio de Janeiro.
