Marcel Tchopwe
Marcel Tchopwe is born in the north of Cameroon. With a passion for drawing, he started studying at IBA in 2014. His work addresses the condition of children in a changing world, questioning the influences of adults on children, the limits imposed by these adults or the influence of media on the emancipation of children. To expand his artistic potential, Marcel spends much time in the studios of leading young artists of the contemporary Cameroonian scene, such as Jean Jacques Kanté and Jean-David Nkot. For AKAA, he presents a new series which denounces the abandonment of Cameroonian politics for the creation of jobs for young people who, over-qualified, come to flood the labour market that corresponds neither to their ambitions nor to their dreams.
