Moustapha Baïdi Oumarou
Moustapha Baidi Oumarou was born in Maroua, Cameroon in 1997. From an early age, his sense of observation allowed him to approach life with a philosophical and open-mind.
Moustapha’s taste for drawing led him to work with a silk-screen printing workshop. Encouraged by his entourage, he turned to painting and presented his first works as a self-taught artist. In 2013, he won the 3rd prize of visual arts at the Yawalta Maroua festival.
Oumarou observes his surroundings but adopts a visionary gaze on the world, the gaze of a conscious and humanistic painter. This humanism can be found in his work as an approach to express what the words of the forgotten and the most vulnerable cannot say.
